POWERED BY A MOMENT OF MAGIC
ECH programs are virtual and in-person peer-based social learning programs to connect children affected by cancer with mental health resources and education.
Express, Create, Heal (ECH) is a transformative program born out of the organization designed to address the mental health of children and teens affected by childhood cancer, regardless of their circumstances, through the power of the arts, music, and play. We believe that building community-based solutions and utilizing play as a language for education can increase children's and teens' mental health, well-being, and resilience.
1. We research and write program guides and volunteer trainings.
We have established a medical advisory committee comprised of mental health professionals specific to the childhood cancer committee who contribute their expertise to developing our programming and training materials. By collaborating with these specialists, we ensure that our initiatives are evidence-based and effectively address the mental health needs of our target population.
2. We train and mobilize A Moment of Magic volunteers nationwide.
Our network of college student volunteers serves as the backbone of our program, leading peer-based social-emotional learning programs and supporting children and teens in need. With over 30 chapters and 1,000 volunteers nationwide, our network is poised to impact youth mental health significantly.
3. We partner with diverse stakeholders to implement the program in their community, directly impacting those they serve.
We collaborate with hospitals, schools, and nonprofit organizations to run ECH Programs at their facilities and to ensure holistic and evidence-based delivery of our programs. By bringing together diverse stakeholders and resources, ECH addresses the multifaceted needs of youth and amplifies its impact on youth mental health.
